FULLY FUNDED LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN WELDING SKILLS

In April this year, The Engineering College announced certification by The Welding Institute (TWI), for the delivery of key welding programmes. These new developments have enabled The Engineering College to confidently deliver welding courses aimed towards individuals who need to build up their knowledge and skillset of welding to gain access to the industry.

Our Level 2 Certificate in Welding Skills allows 19+ (no upper age limit) candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the engineering sector. This course covers TWO of the following methods of welding: Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Aluminium, and Oxy Acetylene of which are used across all welding sectors.

CERTIFICATION

To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Welding Skills (3268-20), learners must achieve a minimum of 14 credits from units 201-205.

  • Unit 201 Manual Metal Arc Welding
  • Unit 202 Oxy-Acetylene Welding Unit 203 Tungsten Inert Gas Welding Aluminium
  • Unit 204 Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
  • Unit 205 Metal Inert Gas Welding

COURSE START DATE

Mid-July 2017

COST

This course is normally ran at a cost of £990 + VAT , however, the programme can be fully funded via Adult Education Budget. (Coordinated by The Engineering College and Job Centre Plus)

DURATION

120 Hours *delivery days/times to be agreed

PROGRESSION

If successful, candidate can achieve welding qualification BS487 (additional costs apply)
