Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit experienced engineers in the above vocational fields. Candidates without prior teaching expertise that have good experience and underpinning engineering knowledge will be given relevant training and CPD to help fulfil the role of a Tutor (see below).
We also welcome applications from temporary or freelance Tutors who wish to join College’s staff bank for ad hoc cover during term time.

What will you bring to the role?
- Recent and relevant industry/occupational experience with a minimum of 3 years engineering experience

What’s involved in the role?
The roles are diverse and cover a number of different elements, including:
- Teaching, Learning and Assessment: delivery of practical and theory sessions to meet the requirements of the business, the planning of lessons and learning plans effectively, making use of resources and curriculum.
- Verification: maintain all records and workpieces, track progress for each student in your designated group/s and carry out essential marking for assessments.
- Learner Reviews: work within the team to develop and regularly update learner ‘off-the-job’ learning plans in conjunction with the learner(s). Work within the relevant team to contribute timely information to the individual’s ‘training officer’ to support with performance reviews
- Learner Support: typically ‘first line’ academic and pastoral support, support the team in identifying any high or additional needs students.
- Technical & Administration: identifying opportunities for CPD, improving competency, fulfilling ESFA requirements regarding tracking attendance. support with recruitment and promotion of the brand
- Team Responsibilities: ensuring high quality health and safety provision, support and promotion of Equality and Diversity within this industry and safeguarding
- Scheduled Working: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm pattern of delivery with built-in scope for curriculum development, learner support and training within those times. Occasional twilight sessions 5.00pm-8.00pm.
